More than 30 LGPS organisations signatories of 2026 Stewardship Code

More than 30 organisations that are members of the LGPS have been formally announced as signatories of the 2026 Stewardship Code.
Around 30 funds are signatories of this year’s Stewardship – as well as five out of the six pools – with them all having been signatories before this year.
They form part of the 290 signatories who are members of the Code, comprising 197 asset managers, 74 asset owners and 19 service providers.
Set up by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), the Stewardship Code is a voluntary framework that establishes principles for institutional investors, asset managers, and service providers to responsibly allocate, manage and oversee capital.
Approximately 70% of signatories to the 2026 Code have reduced the length of their reports, with around a quarter electing to submit separate documents for their Activities and Outcomes Reports and Policy and Context Disclosure.
Many others, meanwhile, chose to submit a single report structured to clearly distinguish between the two elements.
FRC head of stewardship Andrea Tweedie said: “The UK Stewardship Code continues to play an important role in supporting high-quality stewardship and providing transparency to investors and other stakeholders.
“The transition to the 2026 Code is helping signatories focus their reporting on the stewardship activities and outcomes that matter most. It is encouraging to see many signatories producing shorter, more focused reports while continuing to demonstrate the quality of their stewardship practices.”
