West Yorkshire Pension Fund retains Aon for actuarial advice
Aon PLC, a leading global professional services firm, has been reappointed to provide actuarial services for West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
The £20 billion West Yorkshire Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and is managed by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. As a multi-employer fund, it provides benefits for over 400 employers and has more than 320,000 scheme members.
Aon has provided actuarial services for West Yorkshire Pension Fund since 2009, successfully retaining the appointment through compulsory competitive retenders in 2017 and 2024.
Euan Miller, managing director at West Yorkshire Pension Fund said: “We are pleased to continue with the Aon team that has worked with us over the years. They have applied a tailored approach to meet our requirements, allied to possessing an excellent understanding of the needs of our diverse employer base.
“In the tender process, Aon demonstrated how its approach is flexible and adaptable as our needs evolve – and we look forward to their continued support over the coming years.”
Jonathan Teasdale, director of UK public sector pensions at Aon, said: “The West Yorkshire Fund is one of the largest local government pension funds in the country and we are naturally looking forward to continuing our work with its team.
“In a time of upheaval for the LGPS and with changes to market conditions, we have found that funds are highly reassured by the ability of our actuarial model to achieve stable contribution outcomes for funds and their employers. The West Yorkshire Fund’s vote of confidence is one more example of that.”
