West Midlands Pension Fund has appointed Mandy Kaur-Sadler as its independent person, joining from May 2026.
A senior trustee director at Dalriada Trustees, Kaur-Sadler will provide independent insight and challenge to support the fund’s pensions committee across all aspects of investment, governance and pension administration. The role will also strengthen the committee’s approach as the regulatory landscape continues to evolve.
The appointment followed market engagement and a competitive selection process.
West Midlands Pension Fund’s Rachel Brothwood said: “This appointment strengthens our governance at an important point in time for the LGPS. Mandy brings significant pensions expertise, an independent perspective and a strong connection to the region, all of which will add real value to our Pensions Committee.
“We are committed to making sure the Fund is well placed to respond to change while continuing to deliver for our members and employers. I look forward to working with Mandy in this new role.”
Kaur-Sadler added: “I am delighted to be appointed as the independent person to West Midlands Pension Fund at such an important time for the LGPS. With responsibility for around 360,000 members and over £21bn in assets, the fund plays a significant role in delivering long-term financial security for a large and diverse membership.
“I look forward to supporting the pensions committee through expert insight and objective constructive input in relation to the advice it receives, helping to ensure decision-making remains robust, transparent and aligned with best practice as the regulatory landscape continues to evolve.”
