North East Scotland Pension Fund becomes Belem Investor Statement signatory

The North East Scotland Pension Fund has become a signatory to the Belem Investor Statement on Rainforests.

This move places the fund among a group of global investors representing nearly $3tn in assets. Developed in collaboration with Rainforest Foundation Norway, the initiative urges governments to adopt and enforce policies aimed at halting and reversing deforestation and ecosystem degradation by 2030.

By joining the initiative, the North East Scotland Pension Fund and its fellow signatories are calling on governments to promote deforestation-free and legal trade, strengthen transparency and disclosure requirements, enforce robust forest protection laws, and align public finance and national plans with nature-related goals.
