LGPS Central has announced the appointments of Alison Major Lépine and Lee Marshall to the pool’s investment team.
The appointments come as the company continues to strengthen its capabilities, and deliver on expanded responsibilities set out under the government’s Fit for the Future reforms and support for partner funds.
Major Lépine joins as its new head of alternatives and hedging solutions, bringing with her more than 20 years’ experience in asset management, having held senior roles at Absolute Return Partners and spending nearly a decade at Railpen Investments.
Marshall, meanwhile, has been brought in as the pool’s new investment director of global property and natural capital. A highly experienced real-assets specialist, he joins from the Pension Protection Fund, where he served as its head of real estate.
Reflecting on the two appointments, LGPS Central’s chief investment officer Jayne Atkinson said: “LGPS Central’s growth to a £100bn asset manager, and the wider role we have been given under the Fit for the Future reforms, demands best-in-class investment capability.
“These senior appointments are a key part of building the scale, expertise and resilience required to serve our partner funds now and into the future.”
