Aon Hewitt wins LGPS admin role

Aon Hewitt has been appointed to provide consultant services to part of the National LGPS Third Party Administration Framework. Following the appointment, Aon Hewitt will help select providers for the framework for third party admin services to the LGPS and other public sector schemes.

The National LGPS Framework was set up in 2012 and is hosted by Norfolk County Council. It aims to give a cost-effective means for LGPS administering authorities to procure services and it now covers actuarial and benefits consultancy, investment consultancy, as well as custodian and legal services. Aon Hewitt head of public sector benefits consultancy, Karen McWilliams, said: “The National LGPS Framework is playing an increasingly important role in the way that public sector pension services are delivered. The approach it is taking is assuring quality and a uniform method, and this should be to the benefit of all involved. This follows our recent reappointment as actuarial adviser to the Durham County Council Pension Fund, and further helps to strengthen our contribution to the LGPS market.”
