Pools celebrate International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day celebrations in March allowed LAPFs to showcase their own personal commitment to pushing for equity in the workplace – beyond the efforts made in their investment and engagement strategies.

The International Women’s Day website asked people to “Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.”

It calls for society to “celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to drive gender parity.”

Kristina Ingate, director for governance and company secretary at London CIV, was delighted to support International Women’s Day.

“London CIV is pleased to take this opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women across our business and around the world.

“An inclusive working environment is important to creating a more successful organisation and diversity is one of our core values.”

In a statement on its website, LGPS Central said: “We are proud to boast a 60/40 split in gender across our organisation (50/50 split across our non-executive directors) and a BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic) population of 46% with 15 different cultures represented within our workforce of 81 people.”
