London CIV appoints Aoifinn Devitt as new CIO

London CIV, the £45 billion LGPS investment pool, has appointed Aoifinn Devitt as its new chief investment officer (CIO). She will start her role on the 15th January, replacing Jason Fletcher, who left the pool at the end of October last year.

Devitt is currently the CIO at US-based wealth management firm Moneta, and also advises LGPS funds on areas such as asset allocation, responsible investing and the pooling process. Previously she was head of investment (Ireland) at the international business of Federated Hermes Limited. Devitt was also CIO as Chicago Policemen’s Pension Fund, a public defined benefit plan. She has worked with institutional investors for over 20 years, as a consultant and an advisor, and has developed global experience in the US, Europe and Asia.

Devitt commented on her appointment, saying: “I’m thrilled to be joining Dean Bowden [London CIV’s CEO] and the London CIV team as CIO, especially at a time of evolution and growth for London CIV. Having worked within the LGPS network for over 15 years, I am acutely aware of the importance of the role of London CIV in supporting our clients in the management of the LGPS.

“I am excited to build upon my work within the public sector to develop a suite of investment products that reflects the evolving imperatives around net zero goals, cash flow generation and portfolio resilience, and above all to working with a diverse group of clients at such a momentous time in their trajectory.”
